This Privacy Policy explains how Clickspace Inc. (“Clickspace,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use our website at www.clickspace.com and our Budguide tablet application (together, the “Services”).
01 Who we are & scope
Clickspace Inc. is a company based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This policy applies to our website (www.clickspace.com) and to Budguide, our in-store tablet application used by licensed cannabis retailers.
Budguide is a business tool provided to and operated within retail locations. When you use a Budguide tablet in a store, both Clickspace and the retailer operating that location may handle information you provide. This policy covers Clickspace’s handling of that information; the retailer’s own practices are governed by their policies.
02 Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to operate the Services:
Anonymous usage data
We collect anonymous, aggregated usage and analytics data about how our website and app are used — for example, pages or screens viewed, features used, general device and browser type, and approximate interaction patterns. This data is not used to identify you personally.
Contact details you provide
We collect your name, phone number, and email address when you choose to give them to us, specifically:
- When you submit an inquiry or contact form on our website; and
- When you place an order through the Budguide app to be sent to the store for payment at the register.
Providing this information is optional — you can browse without it — but it is required to complete an inquiry or an in-store order.
03 What we do not collect
We want to be clear about what we deliberately do not collect through the Services:
- Payment information. We do not collect or store credit card numbers, bank details, or other payment credentials. Any payment for in-store orders is handled directly by the retailer at the point of sale, not through Budguide.
- Photos. We do not collect, access, or store photos from your device or camera.
04 How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the website and the Budguide app;
- Respond to inquiries and requests you send us;
- Process orders you place in-store through Budguide and send them to the store’s point-of-sale system;
- Understand how the Services are used, through aggregated analytics, so we can improve them; and
- Meet our legal, regulatory, and security obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
05 Legal basis & consent
We handle personal information on the basis of your consent and as permitted by applicable Canadian privacy law, including the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
By providing your information through an inquiry form or the Budguide checkout process, you consent to our collection and use of it as described in this policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time (see Your privacy rights), subject to legal or contractual limits.
06 Third-party services
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the Services:
- Google Analytics — to collect anonymous usage and analytics data that helps us understand and improve how our website and app are used.
- Google Cloud — databases and cloud services that host our Services and store the information described in this policy.
These providers process information on our behalf and are contractually required to protect it and to use it only for the purposes we specify. We take reasonable steps to ensure any third party that handles personal information on our behalf provides a level of protection comparable to that described in this policy. Google’s handling of data is also governed by Google’s own privacy policy.
09 Data storage & transfers
Information is stored using Google Cloud services in the United States (the Google Cloud us-central1 region). Because this infrastructure is located in the United States, your information is stored and processed outside Canada and may be subject to the laws of the United States, including lawful access requests by U.S. authorities. We take reasonable steps to ensure your information remains protected in a manner consistent with this policy and applicable Canadian law wherever it is held.
10 Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy — for example, to respond to your inquiry or complete and record your order — and as required to meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. You may request deletion at any time (see below).
11 Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to keep our safeguards current.
12 Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Withdraw consent to our use of your information;
- Request deletion of your personal information; and
- Ask questions about how your information is handled.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@clickspace.com. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
13 Budguide & age restrictions
Budguide is a tool for licensed cannabis retailers that lets in-store customers browse a retailer’s cannabis inventory on a tablet. It is intended for in-store use only, is accessed through a passcode provided by the retailer, and is not available for public download or consumer use.
Cannabis is an age-restricted product. Budguide is used to browse a licensed retailer’s cannabis inventory in-store; it does not process sales, payments, or transactions. It is intended only for adults who are of the minimum legal age for cannabis in their jurisdiction, and is not intended for, or directed at, minors.
14 Children
Our Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because Budguide relates to an age-restricted product, it is intended only for adults of legal age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
15 Geographic scope
We offer our Services within North America only. The Services are not directed to, or intended for, individuals outside North America.
16 U.S. state privacy rights
Because Budguide is used by retailers in the United States, residents of certain U.S. states — such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and others with comprehensive privacy laws — may have additional rights over their personal information. Depending on where you live, these may include the right to:
- Know and access the personal information we have collected about you;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Delete your personal information;
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and of targeted advertising; and
- Not be treated differently for exercising these rights.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising, and we do not use it for those purposes — so there is nothing to opt out of in those categories. You may still exercise your access, correction, and deletion rights at any time by emailing privacy@clickspace.com. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law, and you may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA), you have the rights described above. The only categories of personal information we collect are identifiers and contact details you provide (name, phone number, email) together with anonymous usage data; we collect these for the purposes described in this policy and do not sell or share them.
17 Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
